MERRY CHRISTMAS 2003
With apologies to Jolly Old Saint Nicholas
by Nancy E. Reilly

Jolly old Saint Nicholas
Lean your ear this way:
The Reillys have to talk with you
On this Christmas Day.

The year '03 has been great
And Nancy is so glad
That she won't ask for much
'Cause you might get mad.

This past year was wonderful,
Filled with lots of fun...
Timmy married sweet Cathy
And Isabelle turned one.

We should also make a note,
Dad in golf made par.
While Mike fought in Iraq,
Earning a bronze star.

So as you pack your presents up,
Try to get this right -
We just want the world to be
Peaceful with no fights.

And we'd like our kids to feel
Joyous, happy, and free
With the presents they will find
Underneath the tree.

But the most important thing
Is for all to know
That the love within our hearts
Should make your New Year glow. ©

2004 Merry Christmas Memories
by Nancy E. Reilly

We have a list of people we know
All written in a book.
And every year at Christmas time
We go and take a look.
And that is when we realize
That those names are a part
Not of the book they're written in
But of our very hearts.

And once we've met these people
The years cannot erase
The memory of a pleasant word
Or of a friendly face.
So when we send a Christmas card
That is addressed to you
It's because you're on our list
Of friends we're beholden to.

Our family news, home and abroad,
With this Christmas poem we tell...
Timmy and Cathy are fine in Denver;
Elizabeth and Isabelle Claire are well.
But our family's prayers this season
Are with Mike who's in Iraq.
We know that you will understand
We can't wait to have him back.

So whether we have known you
Many years or few,
In some way you are a part in
Shaping things we do.
And our wish to you this season
That forever and ever endures
Is that there be "Christmas Blessings"
In hearts of you and yours. ©

2005 CHRISTMAS POEM
by Nancy E. Reilly

This year ends on a happy note...
Jacqueline Irene was born
To Tim and Cathy in Denver.
Blow the whistles and horns!

Our second granddaughter is sweet
And we are very proud
That Isabelle has a cousin.
So shout, "HOORAY" out loud.

We love our home in Florida
With oranges and sunshine.
Please come and visit us soon
And we will "wet a line."

Son Michael is home from Iraq
(Elizabeth says, "YEAH!)
So our family counts its blessings
On this Christmas Day.

May your holidays be joyful
With all the gifts galore.
And may your NEW YEAR be better
Than any year before. ©
