In older days we'd hang our stockings

And never expect anything shocking,

But now, who knows?

Anything goes!

Nice parents once only bought fun toys

For their good little girls and boys,

But now, who knows?

Anything goes!

Toys have gone nuts today!

Digital is in today

And windup is out today.

Wii is in today

And X-Box is out today.

IPads are in today

And laptops are out today.

Anything goes!

Most Christmas trees that were fun before

Are now "holiday trees" and nothing more.

So now, who knows?

Anything goes!

All Replicicans this year are so sad

And Democrats are so very glad.

Well now, who knows?

Anything goes!

This season has gone nuts today!

But Jesus is born today

With lots of joy today.

The holiday is still great today

So we say ho-ho today

And wish you love today

And a Merry Christmas today,

But the coming New Year

OUR KITTENS' (Tiger & Lily) FIRST CHRISTMAS

(with apologies to Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer)

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer

Has some new friends today.

For sweet Tiger and Lily

Are joining him in holiday play.

Round and round the kittens run

Chasing the Christmas lights

Lily jumps and tries to catch

Rodolph's nose, so red and bright.

Beneath the tree, our kittens rest

Waiting for Santa Claus.

Stretching out, they start to purr

And begin to lick their paws.

The Tiger climbs the Christmas tree

And it starts to lean, lean, lean...

All the bulbs come crashing down;

What a mess for us to clean!

Well, we still love our DEER kittens,

As we shout out with glee,

"We'll have a MERRY CHRISTMAS...

Even without the tree!" ©
